City and Real qualify for knockout rounds

On Tuesday, Real Madrid defeated Paris Saint-German by 1-0 and qualified for the knockout round       of the Champions League and  Manchester City  defeated Sevilla by 3-1 and qualified for the knockout round.
City secured their place in the last 16 with two games to spare with a superb performance at the Roman Sanchez Pizjuan stadium .




With this result , City is now at thr top of the group D and now main challenge for them will be to secure that position , which will cause a more favourable draw in the knockout stages.

Manager Manual Pellegrini still wants more from his team and said, " It is important  to be qualified two games before but we want to qualify first in the group".

The first chance of goal was made by Raheem Sterling just eight minute after the start of the game and with this goal from Raheem, City took the initial lead of 1-0.

Fernandinho doubled the lead by taking a tremendous shot just three minutes later of the first goal and with this goal, City took his initial lead to 2-0.

Tremoulinas gave the Spanish hosts hope but Wilfried Bony's crisp low finish nine minutes from the break effectively killed the contest between both teams and hence City got a clear group D victory.

"We don't really look to make big statements-we look to win our games and build on what we are doing. We are doing well at the moment . Without playing really well in the Premier League, we are top and we are top of our group now", said  Hart .


Real Madrid also booked a place in the last 16 of the Champions League by beating Paris Saint-German by 1-0 . With this win, 10 times champions Real has moved one step more towards the final title of Champions League.

Real have 10 points from four games in group A and PSG has 7 points and PSG is on the second place in the group. PSG  suffered their first defeat in this season and now they will look to get top position of the group.

A fortuitous goal from Nacho proved decisive for 10 time champions Real , which lead a way for Real towards the knockout round of the tournament. Now , Real would like to keep each match secure to their side so as to they could win the final title this year. This team is really performing very well.
